Adorable Adelyn & The Hely Family

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Adelyn for my friend Danielle. Adelyn is baby #2 for this family, and just like her older sister, she is gorgeous!

Little Adeyln didn't like to have her clothes off, but she managed through without too much fuss, and we got some beautiful pictures from the shoot! Well worth the drive to Bracebridge!

Danielle came to me for her maternity shoot, and we took a shot of Adelyn's name... so for all to see - here are the pictures, one from before... one after!

The First Contest - Jen's sexy Boudoir!

Yesterday was my boudoir session with Jen G. She does all my knit props for the newborn shoots and she was the winner of my first contest ever. We've been postponing and postponing this shoot for a while now, and finally decided on a day and got together to get it done!

Jen said she was a little nervous, but she really had no reason to be - the camera absolutely loved her! She looked fantastic in every shot we took. I'm going through the photos now and I'm blown away by how beautiful they are!

The new addition!

Well, another year has past and I'm a year older. My birthday was yesterday and man alive did I get spoiled! My family al pitched in together and bought me my newest addition, a new Macbook Pro. What a computer!  I'm a PC user in the past, so making the switch to the Mac is proving a little harder than I originally had thought, but I'm getting used to the interface.

I'm excited to start editing on the new computer, thats for sure. I've got all my programs ready to load up and start using, I'm moving all my files over... it's a time consuming process!

So if I don't blog in a couple days, it's because I'm getting the new computer worked in!

We're here for a good time - Natalie & Darcy

My last shoot on Sunday was with Natalie and Darcy for their engagement pictures. This couple was a riot!  They were constantly goofing around and playing with eachother - I can say from experience, having fun with your spouse is a huge part of  your marriage, you need the fun to keep things fresh. If you believe that to be true, then there is no other couple with as much staying power as Natalie and Darcy!

When they arrived at my mother in law's farm, the dog went crazy - couldn't get enough of Darcy! Natalie had to remind him that if we wanted to dog to leave, he had to stop petting her! I'm so glad we chose the farm too, because it made such wonderul picturesque backdrops!

I can't wait for their wedding this fall, it's going to be a riot, if the engagement shoot was any indication!

It's Prom Season - Jessica & Nathan

My afternoon shoot on Saturday was with Jessica and Nathan for their prom. It brought back memories from my own prom when I saw how excited and happy they were! We went to Sunnidale park in Barrie, which I might add was beautiful, and the sun was shining gloriously.

Jessica and Nathan were perfect for the camera, and their pictures show it! Jessica is an aspiring photographer herself, so this was her chance to get in front of the lens.

Give me the guns! - The Hofing Family

This was a super busy weekend for me! I had a total of 4 photoshoots, 2 of which were on Mothers day, and I still managed to fit in some visiting with my mom and mother in law - I'm wiped today! 

My first shoot on Sunday was of some long time friends of mine - the Hofing children, Bryan, Sam and Matt. Their mums birthday is tomorrow, and they wanted to have some pictures taken for her. It started off a little awkward, Matt did his portraits first, and in between his serious faces, there was a lot of playing and fun. We got a lot of great shots including the guns. Now, you may be asking yourself, what are the guns?  Well, generally it's when you make a gun with your hand an point it all cheesy like at the camera - which we did get some of. But for Matt, it was just lifting his shirt a little to reveal his tattooed guns on his hips. Yep, Matt has guns tattooed to look like they're tucked into his pants. Man alive did I laugh when I saw that!

Anyways, amidst all the fooling around and funny pictures, we did manage to capture a couple of 'framers' for their mum, and I think she'll be happy with the results!

Capturing Cameron!

Sweet little Cameron joined us May 2nd and he is a little heartbreaker! Cameron had such a sweet little face, and a wonderful head of hair. He was so content for 99% of the shoot and was my second ever sleeping baby!

He didn't mind us moving and posing and putting on new hats, really the ideal little model! I was showered fairly early in the shoot, but once he got that first pee out, we were good to go! I did notice I need to invest in some more boy style hats, because I only had a couple... but with creative posing and a couple new baskets, we made the shoot out to be fantastic!

Baby Amelia

After a traumatic birth, baby Amelia came in to this world and she's absolutely perfect! Amelia spent a couple days in the NICU for breathing issues, but she was breathing just fine for me when I went to see her on Monday. She had the perfect little face, no scratches or newborn acne. Literally nothing for me to smooth away when I am editing... and unlike ALL the other babies I've photographed, Amelia slept!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Amelia's family. Her Grandma was an ace at rocking the sweet little angel, and mom and dad were such good sports for the whole thing!

Wedded Bliss - Shannon & Jeremy

I was blessed this weekend to be able to photograph some of my sisters wedding. I couldn't photograph the whole thing, since I was in the wedding party, but the bridal prep and the party (including garter and bouquet toss) was all mine!

I may be biased, but man was my sister a gorgeous bride, I truly can't get over how amazing she looked in her Maggie Sottero dress with her hair and makeup all done up, a real life princess! I'm editing photos now, and they're turning out beautifully, but I want to post my favourite photo as a teaser.
